When a loving home isn’t an immediate option, sanctuary life is here.
Our state-of-the-art facility has room for up to 23 residents. There are dog kennels, daily walks on the trail, playtime in the yard, or lying in the sun by our memorial garden. We have multiple cozy spaces inside for staff and volunteers to enjoy indoor time with dogs. Our sanctuary also boasts a quarantine building, separate rooms for dogs recovering from surgeries, a grooming area, an on-site laundry facility, and a full kitchen. It’s Dog Heaven!
In some cases, dogs become long-term residents to accommodate their unique requirements, such as homes with no other pets, no stairs, or someone with experience handling tough-to-train dogs. Other dogs stay longer at the sanctuary while recovering from medical procedures. We ensure each dog receives the best care, love, and attention regardless of the reason.

Buddy LoveBuddy Love was brought into our care as part of an animal cruelty case. He had several medical issues that needed tending to before he could be made available for adoption. Being a special needs dog, Buddy Love has been at the sanctuary since the fall of 2021. He is currently being fostered as he awaits his perfect family.

DiamondDiamond came to us extremely sick. She was thought to be nearing the end of her life due to severe diabetes. It took several months, but we got her healthy, and she even tested a new insulin pump product. Once healthy and shining, it took several more months to find the right family ready to take on the upkeep and expense of a severely diabetic dog, but she found her perfect fit. Diamond joined the sanctuary in February 2022 and was adopted in September 2023.

PetePete was a large, energetic hound dog who didn’t know home life due to several failed adoption attempts. At the sanctuary, he was showered with abundant love from our volunteers and had several staff sleepovers. He was a staff and volunteer favorite and became one of our social media stars. Pete joined the sanctuary in July 2019 and made it his final home until May 2021.

Korky & IsabellaKorky & Isabella are a bonded pair of Chihuahua mixes. Finding placement for a bonded pair of dogs is always tricky, especially since Korky was an exceptionally grumpy little old man. He eventually won over the heart of one of our volunteers and then warmed up to her family through foster placement. It only took a few weeks for everyone to know Korky and Isabella had found their forever home. Korky and Isabella spent two and a half years with the sanctuary.
